Alpaca Hides
These items are extremely rare in the States
and when we have them available, they run between $150 and $225. Alpaca
fiber is very fine compared to sheep wool. Above are two alpaca covered
ottomans from and earlier project with solid cherry wood frame.

|
All pet beds come with our washable lambskin covered matter.
The cover is zippered and removable for easy cleaning. It rests on a vinyl
covered hardwood board that is easily wiped clean.

JACOB
sheep are a celebrated old world breed, thought to be one of if not the
oldest. The story of Jacob in the Book of Genesis, tells of the origin of
their unique markings, thus the name. The wool is much valued by hand
spinners and can be blended to produce a range of natural colors. |
|
NAVAJO-CHURRO sheep are a more recent addition to our farm.
They are likely related to the older Jacob breed and have a very interesting history
of their own. The Navajo is larger than the Jacob, and quite striking in
appearance; we brought them into our flock because of their high quality meat. |

JACOB LAMBSKIN
Each Cota Farms' lambskin is a unique product. The special tanning process allows them to be washable. They have many uses including medical. Sheepskin has long been used to alleviate discomfort and pressure sores from bed or chair bound persons. These skins, available in some medical supply houses, are never as beautiful
or plush as the ones from Cota Farms.
Wall hangings, floor coverings, bed and bath, clothing, these are some other popular uses for our
lambskins but to tell the truth many people buy them for their pets. Our
lambskins are on display at the Clintonville Farmer's Market during market season, when they are available, and at the farm. Since each
one is different, the price will vary, usually between $75 and $125. |

Cota inspects a couple shearling carpets. We have limited inventory
of these items and suggest custom designed creations instead; there is no additional cost for this service. I have been envisioning a bedspread; what a marvelous gift
it would make. |
